Drink. More. Water

"Coffee is life, but water is lifer." - The Internet

Feeling a bit off your game this week?

It could be something as simple as H2O.

This means that our hydration needs are above normal. If you're not getting in enough water, you're performing below your potential.1

Tips for proper hydration:

In the first 10 hours of the day

  • Get at least 80 oz. (More work, exercise, heat exposure = drink more water)

  • Kidneys and other organs are more active during this window

  • Front loading water intake also helps you reduce frequency of nighttime trips to the loo

A quick tests to see if you're dehydrated

  • Pinch the skin on the top of your finger - it should return to normal within a few seconds

  • Press on your fingernail - the color should return within a few seconds

Hydration during exercise

  • Bodyweight(lbs.)/30 = # of oz to drink every 15 mins

  • Sip, don't chug

So, are you getting enough water? (Cue subconscious drink)

P.S. don't forget about those electrolytes!

Peace,

Geoff
